Don’t let your new product go up in flames!

Now that your product has launched what we want to work on is creating a stable flow of traffic to your site. What happens many times is the first few days you will see explosive results and then your sign ups begin to slow to a trickle. Here are a few strategies I have used with success to keep the product flowing and sign ups constant.

Work with your new existing list – You should be contacting your list in the first few days to touch base with them. Give them an overview of what they should be doing if you have not done so already. Get them to rebrand, become an affiliate and take an active part in your site. Give them and show them reasons of why they should be taking action and promoting your product to their friends.
The best way I found to keep an active list is a combo of free tools and helpful information backed by a selling of a product. Over a months time frame my most responsive mailings are… Initial mailing as soon as they join they receive an email on what to do next to promote your product and share it: week one offers a free resource or information helpful to building their success online: week two promotes the product a bit more and backs it up with an affiliate product I have tested (this produces a second stream of income: week three is a helpful product or information : week four is more helpful information with a soft sell to a resource. Keeping this pattern month after month really reduces your attrition rate and keeps people on your list active and wanting to hear what you have to say next. It is because of this you can continue to keep your digital product strong and sales constantly active.

Article marketing is another resource that is very helpful for building a continued flow of traffic. You can create articles 250 -700 words in length about your niche and link back to your product. Most of the traffic to articles are from search engines which means you should target keywords and your articles to issues that people have in your niche market place and fix it for them. Your resource link to your product should be one that will help this searcher overcome an issue they are looking to solve. You can submit your articles to my article directory at Blazing Articles.

Video marketing is another popular way to continue to drive traffic. Create a short video that is entertaining but helpful to searchers in your niche. Create a title that targets keywords people would be searching for about your product. In the description be sure to back link to your product. An awesome product to do this with quickly and effectively is called Traffic Geyser.

It is a quick way to get your product out there in front of the eyes of thousands in exchange for higher commissions and first promotion rights to your product.

What is a JV?

JV stands for Joint Venture, it is a list of prelaunch subscribers you invite to promote your product or service on launch day. These JV members are able to login and view the site before launch day to see what it is all about. They often times are offered higher commissions than what any other members will get. This is because you are looking for them to promote you and your product to their list which will build your list and produce more sales.

What is the best way to get JV members?

Your best bet to picking up a new JV member is by taking a look at other site owners and seeing what their site offers. Your ideal JV partner is one in which your product or services does not directly compete with their site but instead would benefit it and their members.

A simple example of this would be you offer a service that does SEO (Search Engine Optimization) work. Owner “A” has a web site of an ebook that teaches you how to blog. The most important thing about blogging is having a strong SEO background to it. Your service would be a benefit to the already existing buyers of owners “A” ebook.

Another important step to take is to first help out the person you are wanting to JV with. Order their product, offer a review after you test the product, promote their product and land some sales with them. This will increase your chances of sticking out and improve your chances of them wanting to take the time out to promote you.

This next part could very well be the most important. I will go over two of the scripts I have used and the benefits and disadvantages of them. These scripts allow you to do many things which include, building your optin list via AWeber or TrafficWave, protecting your products from thieves, build a membership base which continues to drive traffic and can result in additional sales and allows you to create one time offer pages to bump up sales.

The first membership script I used is called Instant Member. This script comes at a great price of just $97 and each additional site after just $47. I used this script on my web site Secret Traffic Reports which is a monthly report that is dripped into the members account each month. This script has many benefits and unique features such as being able to drip the content over several months, different upgrade options, one time offer pages and supports many popular payment methods such as Paypal and Clickbank.

I have found there is a major drawback with this script which is it hampers with some customization. All of the pages are encrypted so you can not edit any of the pages besides in your admin area. This makes things difficult if you wish to add additional pages such as a JV invite page or add features to your pages such as javascript as the editor in the admin area is only an HTML editor and will not support javascript.

The second script is one I am using right now called Launch Formula Marketing. This script comes with a bit of a price tag at $997 or you can do a payment plan for $333 over a 3 month span. This script so far is awesome and easy to set up. Once you pay for the script you can use it on as many sites as you wish. You also get 1 year of free upgrades of the script. The best feature so far about this script is it is fully customizable and comes with a built in rebrander. This is one effective tool to use when you want to build yourself a large list. It allows you to create an ebook, give it away for free and then upsell them on the rebrand rights for the ebook. They can then login to their account and input their affiliate ideas and give the ebook away for free with their own links. The site I am building with this script will be announced at the end of this tutorial.

This is a quick bonus that I found when researching around. This site is called Digital Product Delivery and will protect your digital products from thieves. It is a low monthly fee of just $5 to protect 10 different products with the option of larger packages if you need it. I use this digital protection on my web site Take Action SEO.

The next posting will be: Creating Your First Digital Product Part 3 and go over Prelaunch JV’s and steps to take before the launch of your product to make is successful.

Creating your first digital product such as ebook, software or report can seem like a hard and long task to undertake. In fact at this very moment I am working on another product of my own that is to the be released so. I figured this was the perfect time to go over the break down step by step on how to create your very own digital product. This posting will be broken up in parts and will be released as I go though the phases of building my newest ebook.

Creating a digital product is really going to step you ahead of the pack as you now have to strong asset to build your list with, brand your name and your companies logo or you face. Doing so will gather more attention and get you better well known on the net.

The first step you need to do is sit back and do a bit of brainstorming. You need to answer this list of questions before you can start building the product.

1. What niche am I looking to get into?
2. What is a common question or issue that comes up often in this niche?
3. Can I create a software product or a ebook/report to help others gain the answers to this questions?

If you can come with these answers and more importantly number 3 be able to say yes to this then you have your first product idea and can now push ahead. Even if you feel you yourself can not research and put this information together you can always outsource this to someone in the niche or someone to research the niche and create a report.

You next need to plan your attack on this product. Are you a good designer? programmer? marketer? writer? We can’t all be great at everything we do and this is why it is so important to understand how to outsource your product to people that specialize in these fields. I will go into detail about setting up the site in part 2 but for now get an idea of the tasks you can do on your own and start doing them.

If you are a writer then you will want to start writing up your ebook or report. I do this via Microsoft word and then use Docudesk to convert this file into a PDF file. If you are outsourcing this part be sure they send you both the PDF and the word document so you can update the product and make changes to it as needed.

Is your product going to be software related? If you have the skills to program it on your own go for it. For me I need to outsource this work and do so though a web site called Guru. This is the best site I have found when you are looking to outsource a project. Be sure to review each person/business that bids on your project. Look for things in their review and feedback section that have to do with the project you will be hiring them for. If they have previous positive work experience this could be the person for you.

Creating your digital product part two will go over what scripts you can use to house and protect your products from thieves.
